Traffic police have found an easy way to make money near BSNL office in Indiranagar

If you're traveling from Hole in the Wall Cafe to Empire Restaurant in Indiranagar, you'll take 80 Ft Road and cross a junction along the way. Just before this junction, there’s a short stretch of road that, for some reason, is a one-way. This means you can’t just go straight—you’re will have to take a longer route. There is a one-way sign, but it’s easy to miss. Right after the junction, just outside BSNL office gate, traffic police have set up a brilliantly legal extortion scheme. There’s a convenient hiding spot there, and as soon as you cross the junction, a cop appears out of nowhere to stop you. They initially threaten you with a hefty fine but quickly offer to “settle” for a smaller amount—after all, there’s a steady stream of victims making the same mistake. And it’s not just one or two policemen—there are four of them there. Given how busy this road is, someone or the other gets caught every few minutes, making this a lucrative spot for them.
