Rant Post about Christ University

Rant post 🤬 My wife was interviewing with Christ University, Bangalore for the position of a Counselor. I've always hated it when a workplace calls faraway for an interview but anyway since it's a potential opportunity we have to accept it...so she went first to Christ Deemed to be University Yeshwantpur Campus (travelling all the way from Whitefield) - had her first round. They did mention that the salary might be a little less than what she earns, to which we were ok to adjust a little because we're in a tight spot. The week after, they call her to the main branch(hosur) for a meeting with the HR at 8.30am - which again is a hassle, but understandable, life is tough. Here's what really angered me though - although the salary information was given to them weeks in advance, they say the salary they're offering is 300% lesser than her last drawn salary. You had that information prior - but you still wanted to call the candidate 20kms away, early morning, only to tell them this? This is absolutely unprofessional on their part - this could have been a call. While such a low pay for someone with 12 years of experience is another big issue, my anger is on the fact that they do not respect human beings enough to not cause an inconvenience to them when they're in no position to be able to give them an opportunity. A very annoying experience. I hope this gives insight to others about the culture Christ Deemed to be University holds towards potential candidates. I told my wife on the phone, "Not everyone deserves to be treated with respect...next time clarify on call what the offer is before you go to a far off place" she was kind enough to respond with "Yes, but giving respect is our job, keeping or losing it is theirs" While she was able to handle it gracefully, I must write about it to feel better 😁 I'll leave it at that.
