Good long drives from Bangalore for new drivers?

Hello! I recently got myself a car and planning a road trip this weekend from Bangalore. This would be my first long drive after getting the car. What are some spots within a 3 hour drive from Bangalore with good roads and less traffic? Would want to avoid ghat sections. Currently planning on a drive to Mysore this weekend but let me know if there are better drives!
