Witnessed a man getting bumped by metro train

I just witnessed a man getting bumped by the metro train at Kengeri. I was on the other train, we just reached the metro station and on the other side, saw a man sliding down the platform. I even heard an audible thud. I don't know how he is, I didn't loiter around there for too long. But there was a quite a commotion and both metro routes were halted for about 10 minutes. Why don't we have guard rails installed? I always felt two security guards on each end weren't adequate enough to monitor the entire span of the platform, especially in times of spontaneous emergencies. Like the one I witnessed today.
