Why are cold/sore throat more persistent these days? Can't get rid of them!

Since after COVID days... It seems that cold/coughs/sore throats are very hard to get rid of nowadays. I live at Bangalore, been going through sore throat and wet cough since 1 month from January. I finally had to resort to antibiotics but still this shit won't go away!! Any of you facing the same issues or am I Delulu? Is there any new infection in the making?
