Wholesome Auto drivers do exist (not in bangalore though)

I have been having disk issue and back pain for years now. So decided to get the treatment in another state. Since the Treatment was just 1 hour per day, I decided to make it a vacation as well. Hearing my plan, my Northie Friend tagged along. She too wanted a break and joined me. We reached the location by 8am after a 12 hour bus journey. The hotel was 1 km away from where we were standing and decided to take an Auto. This is where things get interesting. As she was trying to book the auto, an auto driver came ans asked us where we were going. She was not at all interested in having Auto's outside the app due to her traumatic Bangalore Autowaala's experience and waa trying to deny him, while I casually asked him how much it would cost to go to the location. To our surprise he quoted 20 Rs. 🥺. Both of us were stunned hearing that. We asked again to confirm the same and the guy politely affirmed that it was 20 again. As we agreed with utter disbelief, the guy came out and helped us with our luggage us well. We had a friendly chit chat and as we reached the location, I handed him a 50 Rs note and asked him to keep the change. This guy was no way accepting it and was giving us back the balance 30 Rs. Somehow I convinced him to keep the amount and left. For the next 2 - 3 days, we used Auto's multiple times to visit the places and it was dirt cheap. Aftrr 20 and 30 mins of ride, we were never charged more than 100 by anybody. Most cases, we would give them 10 or 20 extra keeping in mind their kind gesture and warm behavior. There waa one auto driver who was seeking for change in multiple shops so that he could give our balance money back. (He didnt wanted UPI though). He too declined when we offered 100 instead of the 80Rs in metre. Anyways we let him keep the 100. Anyways on the 4th day we rented out a scooter aa it was more convenient. I wont mention the place as it would spund more like a comparison. But I can give a hint - This place has Hills, sea, Malls and a World Famous Temple. Not all the auto-waalas are terrible. Just some happen to be born Thugs and Extortionists. We saw the other side of Autowaalas where people earn what they deserve and treat their passengers with respect and coutesy.
