Hindi imposition
I'm from blr but studying in del, and my friends joke a lot about how rude auto drivers are to north indians. But the issue is serious tho. And they're not just rude to north indians. They're rude to everyone. Gone are the days when autos had paintings of shankranna and the drivers were nice. They beat up north indians for not speaking in kannada. They beat up bangaloreans for booking rapido. Bruh of course they're gonna book a rapido when you have an attitude like that and charge exhorbitant fares. It's a circle. The auto drivers are rude and ask for like 300 rs to go 5 kms. People move away from autos and look at cheaper options. This pisses them off and they use rage as a coping mechanism. They beat up rapido guys and people who use them. People start hating auto drivers more. And the cycle continues. And about hindi imposition. Is it really asking too much of people to learn some basic phrases of a language from a place that you're moving to. For a job, food, shelter. I mean the least you can do is learn a little bit of kannada. At least for your own survival. Imagine how entitled someone as to be to expect that everybody else in a city learn their language and adjust to them rather than this person learn the language of the place to survive if not to respect. Hindi isn't even a language that old. It's hardly been around for 200 years. And they claim it's the national language?? When there is no such thing as a national language?!4
