Is UGC NET Mandatory for Assistant Professor Roles in Assam Engineering Colleges?

Hello Is UGC NET compulsory for Assistant Professor jobs in Assam? I'm a BTech student planning to do MTech next year and want to know if NET is mandatory for teaching positions in engineering colleges in Assam. Thanks! Sorry if i am asking some dumb question but i genuinely have no idea on this matter.
