APSC AE

Hi everyone, I’m currently in my 3rd year of Civil Engineering and feeling uncertain about my future path. I’ve narrowed it down to two options: 1. Prepare for GATE in my 4th year, aim for admission to a government college for an M.Tech, and simultaneously prepare for the APSC Assistant Engineer (AE) exams. 2. Skip GATE and directly focus on preparing for the AE exams from home after completing my 4th year. My ultimate goal is to secure a government job in Assam. Since I lack significant financial backing, I need to secure a stable job as soon as possible. Additionally, what should I do if I get a decent placement from college? Although I’m not keen on private civil engineering jobs, I could consider them temporarily for financial stability.
