Will sanskrit disappear in the coming years?

You read the title right, what do you all think about this? I recently watched a video from Parliament where a member questioned, *"Why is the government wasting money on a language that isn’t used for communication/communicable or recognized as an official language of any state? Why are we promoting this RSS ideology?"* That statement stuck with me. I don’t know the full context, but when I think about it, it doesn’t make much sense to me either. How can you relate a language to RSS ideology? In South India, regional languages have been well-preserved. Meanwhile, in North India, many languages have either faded away or been classified as mere dialects of Hindi. I’m not against Hindi, but it cannot represent the diverse cultures of North India. Coming back to the topic personally, I can’t even read or understand Sanskrit anymore. In school, it was just another subject, and most students only learned it to pass exams. Few remember it beyond that. So, where do you all think Sanskrit stands in our future? Today, we mostly hear it in religious recitations by priests and gurus. Will it continue to survive, or will it fade away completely?
