Hey everyone, I’ve been fascinated by the idea of walking from sea level (around Bakkhali) to the Everest Base Camp and have been researching what such a trek across India and Nepal would involve. While planning, I started wondering: * What are the biggest challenges of long-distance trekking in these regions? * How do locals typically react to long-distance hikers passing through? * What are some unexpected dangers or difficulties that people often overlook? Wildlife is one of my main concerns, as I’ve read about encounters with Bengal tigers, leopards, elephants, and venomous snakes. Outside of protected reserves, how likely is it to come across these animals, and what precautions should trekkers take?
