Got in a big fight with traffic cops, consequences?

As my car registration number is of a different city( same state), the cops at my place stop me routinely on pretex of checking documents. Today I lost it and I asked them why they stopped me to which he replied because I wanted to. I lost it at this point and started abusing them pointing out they aren't supposed to stop people randomly and asked for their names to which they started the usual come to station gimmick. The fight continued for 10 minutes after which I told fuck off and drove away after the senior cop there told me to go. As I drove away, they took pictures of my car. Now, two things - was I wrong? They said they are just doing their job but they never stop local cars Also, can they put some random rash driving case against me since they took pics of my car?
