Will I be sued for not serving NP?
Morning India Im CA Inter and started my first job in August in KPO which is working as outsourcing firm dealing with UK clients for accounting and bookkeeping services. Its MNC and paying me well. However being it my first job, i didn't hadn't experience in corporate, and never travelled 40km everyday for work. Initially it was good but later on it was toll on my mental and physical health, apart from it I have few personal family issue as well, so I have decided to postpone career start, get sorted with self first and get some more qualification. I resigned from job on 13th December and they are asking to serve me notice period of 2 months in my probation period. I am still in training and not generating any significant revenue to company. Still they are not approving my early leave. I feel more and more tired everyday due to job. They are asking me to set off my December month salary against there due for notice period. I scared af. This money means a lot to me. I have worked 10 hours and 3 hour of commutation each day for salary. Can't let it go. Moreover heard that company may ask to compensate cost for training, in such case I am not planning to do job anywhere in next 6 8 months and use the knowledge in same KPO industry, probably will start studying by this saving, still i have to pay sum for not serving full NP(I will serve 1 month NP)? I have received an email saying they are holding my December month salary due to uncertainty of notice period, is it fair, can company do so? Need advice from job experienced people, some of you have worked 10 20 30 years in corporate, your advice means a lot to me. Sorry for poor english and drafting skill. Thank you.2
