why is india so polarized?

Subreddits that are either misogynistic or misandrist, have posts where hating women/men is perfectly fine and upvoted alot. My biggest problem with these things is the fact that they call themselves "liberal" I mean you might aswell call yourself right wing if you're going to be favouring one group over the other. There's upper caste hatred by the leftists, and the lower caste hatred by the right wingers. There's muslims/christians hatred by the right wingers and then there's hindu hatred by the left wingers. My point is why can't we just unite? I've seen a right winger hindu be best friends with a left winger muslim. Why is it that people feel so polarized and radical about their politics that they bring it onto their real lives and start hating Hindus,muslims,women,men etc.
