Why do some people wait on life to start ?

At 27, I’m realizing that life truly does move on and all the events you once thought you waited for also finishes and life just happens and moves on. I seen so many events like marriage and someone passing away over several years but it’s like I’m stuck in one phase and it feels like why I’m so behind in life.
