Where can I get a water heater for Hot Showers that will continue to work, even if I come back years later to use it again?
Hello Reddit, I was wondering if someone here could help me with this problem. My family and I are foreigners who travel to our very own house in Delhi every year or a couple of years to stay for a month or so. As of right now, we are using a water heater that we leave in a bucket (it's shaped like a light bulb I do not know the name), however, we would like to buy a water geyser/electric water heater, as it would be quicker and actually allow for slightly longer hot showers with less hassle. It would also hopefully be safer. We asked a couple of plumbers about installing a heater, but they said it would be a bad idea and could possibly blow if we left it unused for a year or so. I do not want to invest in a water heater if it explodes while I am away, and I don't have anyone here in Delhi to check and take care of my home while I am gone. Any advice? Should I take gas or electric heating? Is it okay if I leave it unused for a while? Are there any other Foreigners who have hot showers and haven't run into this issue, or have a creative solution to this problem? Have they experienced what the Plumber was talking about, or is that highly unlikely to happen? If you have any links that would be nice! Anything helps! Thanks!3
