What’s the most painful moment of your life?
I'm sharing my most painful moment. When I was 16, the unbearable quality of life pushed me to run away from home. I reached the railway station and boarded the first train I saw. It took me to Jaipur, where I ate some poha outside the station before heading back in and hopping onto another random train. This time, I ended up in Mumbai. With nowhere to stay, I spent my nights sleeping on Juhu Beach and wandered aimlessly during the day. After a week, my money ran out. My pride wouldn’t let me ask strangers for help, so I went without food. Three more days passed, and I hadn't had a single meal. While roaming the streets of Santacruz on an empty stomach, I spotted a pack of pav lying in an empty plot next to a bungalow. Desperate, I picked it up without a second thought, stuffed a whole piece into my mouth, and chewed until my taste buds gave up. The moment I realized something was off, I spit everything out and examined the pack—it was covered in fungus at the bottom. That moment hit me like a punch to the chest. Overwhelmed, I broke down, sobbing uncontrollably as I walked toward the sea, ready to let the ocean take me. But just as I was about to take that final step, the dreams I had always carried in my heart flashed before my eyes. And somehow, they pulled me back from the edge. Not that it mattered much at the time, but it also happened to be my birthday that day.4
