What not to do in Bangalore?

My (30M) tall white friend and I (29F) ethnically north Indian, are travelling to Bangalore and while I know what not to do in the north, wanted to know if there are any faux pas, blatant scams and culture no-nos we should know about? Also, what's the scene with phone snatchers? Should we keep them in our pockets at all times?
