What is the best way to post a gold ornament internationally?

Not sure if this is the best place to ask for it and not sure if this is the right flair but I need some advice. We travelled to Kyoto about 10 days back and I lost my gold ring at the AirBnb we were staying at. They found the ring but after I had returned to India and they are ready to ship it to me. I wanted to know what would be the best way to get it shipped from Japan to India in terms of carriers, security, cost involved and would it get caught up at custom as considering it’s an old ring that already belonged to me and I can have pictures to prove this. And advice is welcome and thank you in advance.
