Sharing an horrible incident happened to me in childhood.
When I was about five or six years old, we visited my maternal grandfather's house. One day, they sent me to a shop about 200 meters away, two streets ahead, to buy bread and milk (or something similar). At that time, the colony was under construction, and there were many unfinished houses. After three streets, there was a small shop selling daily needs and groceries. The distance between my maternal grandfather's house and the shop was about 250 meters, with many under-construction houses and some empty plots with overgrown bushes in between. It was between 11 am and 1 pm. I successfully reached the shop, purchased the bread and milk, and headed home. On my way back, I saw a homeless/beggar-type person with overgrown, messy, and tangled hair, wearing a old dirty (Baniyan) vest and a lungi, sitting on an empty plot beside the bushes, in front of an under-construction house. There was nobody around at that time; probably the workers were on leave, and there wasn't even a dog or any other animal. This man wasn't there when I went to the shop, but he was there when I returned, sitting on the ground in the empty plot with overgrown bushes, his back against the under-construction house, wearing a lungi with his legs apart. He wasn't wearing any underwear and was holding his penis. He saw me, and I saw him doing that. He shouted, "ae aana!" or "Hey! Come here!" and pointed toward his penis, saying, "dekh kya hai khelegi kya!" Or "Look what I have! Do you want to play?" and he waved his organ up and down. I went numb for a second or two, then I started running toward my maternal grandfather's house. He (the beggar) got up and started chasing me (not at a full running speed, but faster than walking, like jogging). Luckily, the distance from our house to the shop was only 200-250 meters, with two or three turns. I was already halfway home. I ran like hell! He was behind me for the remaining 100-120 meters, but luckily, he didn't catch me. When I was about 10-15 meters away from my grandfather's house, he stopped, quickly turned around, and disappeared behind one of the under-construction houses. I reached home, breathing very heavily, and quickly went inside. I was scared to death. One mistake I made was that I didn't tell anyone about this incident, not even my parents. I was scared and traumatized and was at a very young age. At that time, I thought they (my family) would blame me so I didn't told them. I can't even imagine what would have happened if he had caught me that day. He might have taken me to one of those isolated under-construction houses and done something horrible, or even murdered me. This was the childhood trauma I faced. If you have any similar experiences, feel free to share them below. 👇5
