My friend wants to marry his love of life, but the complex family bonds make it incestuous...can it still work ?

My friend (M28) is in love with a girl (F27). Both are pursuing higher education in medical field. They fell in love during first year of MBBS and are together since. Now the problem is that the grandmother of the guy is first cousin sister of the grandfather of the girl. And the maternal grandmother of girl's mom & guy's mom is the same. They are north Indian Hindu brahmins and it turned really awkward for them when they discovered.
