Indian parents have to learn to let go

I come across so many Indian parents who clutch on to their children. My physiotherapist is a young woman. A few months back she said her parents were looking for a boy for her. She said that she is not looking for a boy for herself as her parents will not accept it 🤦 Now that she is engaged to this guy who her parents found, she says that if they were not in the same city, her mother would just come and stay with them! Seriously?! She was surprised to hear me when I said that my son can decide whether he wants to marry or not. That I will be glad if he lives in. Should Indian parents learn to let go of their children?
