I'm currently on a flight to Thailand, and the indian stereotypes are true.
From the waiting area to the pre-boarding zone and now on the flight, this large group of men in their 30s has been causing a constant disturbance. They are excessively loud, smell of alcohol, and show little regard for basic courtesy. From the Indian airport staff to the airline crew, they've been a challenge for everyone around them. I understand the excitement of a trip, but that shouldn't come at the cost of others' comfort. Unfortunately, this behavior isn't entirely their fault—it's a reflection of the norms they’re used to. Still, it’s frustrating to witness such disregard for shared spaces. They'll take this kind of behavior forward, they'll continue acting the same way in a different country, and soon enough, I'll see more racist reels about Indians on my feed—except, in this case, the criticism would be justified. Do you think there is any hope to put some sense into such people?5
