How are Indians feeling amidst this uptake of racism against Indians overseas?
Want to kick this off by saying I am born and brought up in Australia and by all accounts haven’t really kept in touch with my Indian side. I have always lived like and Aussie and most my friends have always been white. I have noticed that the new wave of Indian migrants are quite loud. They lack a lot of self awareness and don’t realise that the locals are starting to hate them. Now because of how I look, I am also placed in that category regardless of how much I have done for Australia. I was in the Air Force for 8 years. So how are other people feeling? How can we stop this? Is anyone actually listening to the sentiment and the lack of cohesion by Indian communities overseas? For me I have been stuck for multiple days. It makes me cry how bad the racism has got and weather it’s YouTube or X or Instagram. It’s everywhere. The other day I saw a lady on the train scream at this Indian kid for being a smelly curry muncher. To be fair, he had oil in his hair and was wearing an Indian garment. So was easy to spot.1
