Friend Deported from Thailand While I Was Allowed – Seeking Advice
Hey everyone, I wanted to share a frustrating experience that happened recently while traveling to Phuket, Thailand and get some advice on what can be done. I was traveling with a friend, and we both had all the necessary documents. However, at immigration, my friend was denied entry and deported, while I was allowed to enter after showing my documents, return tickets , hotel voucher ,bank balance and debit card. The main issue was that my friend’s flight ticket and funds were with his guardian, who had already cleared immigration, leaving him stranded. My friend was given no valid reason for the deportation. The immigration officers were not cooperative and didn’t allow him to clarify or arrange proof of funds. No official deportation stamp was placed on his passport, which makes it unclear whether he is blacklisted from Thailand. I have contacted the Indian Embassy in Thailand, but I have not received any response to my emails or follow-ups. How can we check if my friend has been blacklisted from entering Thailand in the future? What should I do if the Indian Embassy remains unresponsive? Any alternative ways to escalate this? Could this impact my friend’s future visa applications for Thailand or other countries? This whole situation felt extremely unfair and discriminatory, and I want to know if there’s any way to get an official response or accountability from Thai immigration authorities. Any advice or similar experiences would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!5
