Questioning my vote for Kootami. I feel it's even worse now. (long post... want to vent my frustration)
I wished for some change in how politicians would behave, especially with PK coming to power. But I am getting vexed with same old mudslinging, extraordinary words lacking actions, unparalleled price hikes, diversion politics and increasing crime rates. I am a local to Tirupati and the recent mishap is making burst even more on the current governance and the TTD board. It started on the day of election results - even before mobs started attacking and destroying property, physically hurting others, I saw loads and loads of sand being transported illegally. It is the property of the state and some politically backed babus just looted it like it's the right time. It did not stop even after 7 months of the new govt. even today I see loads of sand being transported. I wanted to check if it's really free to transport our ow sand and sadly there's a mafia/ a syndicate that's controlling all this. Even today you can see that near Thondavada in Tirupati. (Any local can check for yourself if you don't trust my this). Zero income to state but just a select few filling their coffers. No one knows what's happening with Mega DSC! First sign by the CM after swearing in. One of my relatives is who has been training for the exam in Hyd gave up on it as he couldn't afford to pay rents and is back to Tirupati, working in a private school for a meager salary. Someone doing chamchagiri for a politician might get more cash in hand than his honest earnings. These fake promises or delays after giving false hopes is hurting middle class families to the core. My cousin who is in the USA is planning to get married there and looks like they need a birth certificate copy of bride & groom to register their marriage. It's been more than a month since her father applied for a copy of her birth certificate and there is no progress. As a matter of fact, I know it just took a week or 10 days to get one when volunteers were helping with birth and death certificates. Ease of getting government services is nowhere to be seen. Man.. the hike in current charges is plain backstabbing by Babu. A reasonable hike is understandable considering the general inflation. But this is very steep. And this is peak winter. I am bracing myself for the summer months. God save us! Some of the crime incidents, especially those against minors and women is gut wrenching. I am disappointed in PK that he is turning out to be another generic politician with strong words but weak actions. Despite having such advancements in technology, it is appalling to see the crime rates going up with culprits roaming like free birds. Why wait for Adani to arrest Jagan or concerned official if they have primafacie evidence that a scam was done in purchasing power with SECI? If you have seen my recent posts, you'd know my opinion here - it is another diversion show coz agreement is done between two govt. entities. Mismanagement in Vijayawada floods is drastic. Two families that I know personally were affected to the core. One of the families have their son (my friend) and daughter in-law in Australia and he was terrified about the lives of his parents. Have we seen any action on the officials who mismanaged that but not alerting the public in advance? In my opinion, appointment of BR Naidu as TTD chairman in a big blunder. For few reasons - 1. Being a person with multiple priorities, which might take heed over serving to the Lord (business being for-profit and serving in TTD is non-profit), high chances that he will no have enough time to fulfil his role in TTD. 2. Being non-local - for one the geography, facilities and processes is not in your muscle memory, takes a lot of time for an outsider to get hold of it. 3. Lack of experience in working with government officers and bureaucrats. While he may or may not have lobbied with officers, collaborating with executive officers is not something I would expect a business owner to do on a regular basis. In his for-profit business, he would just delegate to his subordinates and incentivize them. It is not the case with non profit organizations and with govt. officials. Sometime physical presence of the chairman itself would send a signal for officers to be alert in their duties. I think BR Naidu spent most of his time in Hyderabad given his other priorities. 4. Abrupt decisions with any pre-planned procedures causing knee jerk reactions - seen that with removing Srivani Trust seva as well. I am blessed enough to have got my darshan through this seva. While some might say it is discrimination based on the amount you pay (10,000+) it is similar to break darshan and I don't want to be asking someone to provide a break darshan recommendation letter. I also felt the crowd/ pilgrims in this seva were more civil (no hard pushing). There are some other things as well on how the queue movement and organizing has changed within weeks of new TTD board. I wouldn't want to comment on Tirumala Laddu issue as it's under judicial purview now. But I have my own opinion on that and it's not a positive one as it brought bad limelight to my region and I am sure if there was concrete evidence, someone would have been behind bars by now. And now this tragedy is definitely a human error. Only the scapegoats are penalized. Big heads are just shrugging off their shoulders. All this is definitely not something I wished for when I voted for this kootami. Just making me feel like this is bad. Worse and Worst is yet to hit us. If only I had a magic wand, I wish I can go back in time to change my vote. At least I don't have to live with this self inflicted guilt of voting for this failed governance.5
