Ap people should fight in court to save public money
In April 2012, the West Bengal government, led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, introduced a monthly stipend of ₹2,500 for imams and ₹1,000 for muezzins in the state. This initiative aimed to provide financial support to religious leaders in mosques. However, in September 2013, the Calcutta High Court declared this practice unconstitutional, ruling that allocating state funds for the payment of salaries to imams and muezzins violated the principles of secularism enshrined in the Indian Constitution. 4
